“One of the best defenders in the world” – Antonio Conte lavished praise on £150,000 a-week Chelsea star

Chelsea legend john Terry will always have a home at Stamford Bridge and could even return as a manager one day insists Antonio Conte.

The 36-year-old centre-back will play his final game for Chelsea after 22 years at Stamford Bridge and will celebrate title win against Sunderland.
The former England international defender could announce the retirement from football after the end of the current campaign.
The veteran defender has played his 716th game for Chelsea last week, against Watford 4-3 where he managed to score a goal.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte insists that there will always be a place for the talismanic defender who had a remarkable career with the Blues.
“I always thought of John as a champion. John Terry is one of the best defenders in the world – I always saw him as that. Now, I can tell you that he’s a really good person.
“When you are at the end of your career, it’s not easy to put yourself to one side and think first about your team, but he has done this. He’s a great man before a great player.
“John can be a good manager. He has the right personality, has great experience with many managers and has won a lot. It’s important to start your career with that at your back. It’s also important to take your time to understand which is the best way for you when you finish playing.”
