New Ronaldo at Anfield? Liverpool Look to Beat Barcelona For Assist-king

Liverpool will make a move to beat Barcelona in any pursuit of Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

Dembele joined Borussia Dortmund last summer and he’s made a great start to life in Germany with seven goals and 16 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The Merseyside giant have been heavily linked with three-capped France international and the player even confirmed Liverpool’s move.

“I saw Klopp in Paris, but I’d already decided to join Dortmund” – He told Four Four Two.

According to the Mirror, Reds boss, Jurgen Klopp is keen to add to his squad with young signings in the summer window. Dembele who is rated at around €70million (by CIES Football Observatory) is said to be one target.

As these numbers from Squawka Football illustrate, the former Rennes man has been thrilling to watch in Germany’s top flight this season:

Back in 2016 Rennes sporting director Mikael Silvestre told reporters: “Ousmane reminds me of a young Ronaldo. I’m going to go out on a limb, but he could win the Ballon d’Or.”

For the Anfield side, it’d be an equally big success if they signed the youngster. Stylistically, the winger would be an excellent fit for the Reds setup and another option to provide thrust from the flanks aside from Sadio Mane.
